Once again, Art has walked the runway for the annual KMAC Couture! Having the wonderful opportunity to be involved from start to finish is simply an honor that I could not describe in words. Being billed as the most unique fashion experience of the city, KMAC Couture features and supports emerging as well as established talents. Ranging from designers and milliners to artists and costumers, the runway is graced with quite the stunning array of wearable and conceptual art work. Every year, the proceeds from this event are used to support education and exhibition programming for the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft with approximately 100,000 people benefiting from KMAC each year. Being in my 4th year of working with KMAC it I've become quite fond of the event and look forward to being more involved as each year passes. What's in store for next year? You'll just have to wait and see, but I can promise you it will top this year!
Let's rewind for a minute to the making of KMAC Couture 2018. The creation of this image was completed in just about a week. When KMAC reached out to me, they were excited to create an campaign image that has not been done before. They wanted to tell the story of what goes into the making of the pieces that walk the runway. Within a few minutes of the conversation, I had the perfect idea that would embody their vision. My mind began to create different aesthetics and props that would help to the story. I wanted to create a "Behind the Scenes" image of the team working together on set. It came together perfectly. Where the 2017 campaign took a full day of work at multiple locations, this year's campaign was captured in a record 23 shots! Once we seen this one image (pictured below left), we knew we had our image that would go on to tell their story. It's always been said teamwork makes the dream work, and it's never been more true! It's been a wonderful experience working with this staff at KMAC and a privilege to be involved at the caliber that I am. Cheers my friends!
