Katie Ames, Jeffersonville H.S. Class of 2015, I really enjoyed capturing the ROTC uniform on this. Being 3rd generation prior military, I had a sincere appreciation for her session. Cheers!
The family and I recently took a trip to the Indianapolis Children's Museum where we spent a good part of 6 hours roaming the halls filled with some really interesting exhibits. Some of my favorites were the Dinosaurs (yep, I'm a big kid at heart), China and the various eclectic art displays. When we go on these trips I tend to bring my camera and 1 to 2 lenses, not only to pack light but it also gives me a chance to reacquaint myself with the glass. The majority of my recent work had been shot with my 70-200mm f/2.8L II, so I was excited to be limited to only a 16-35mm f/1,2 and a 50mm f/1.2. These exhibits were not only rich in culture and history but in textures and patterns as well. I knew I would have plenty of Monochrome material loaded up for me to edit when we go back home. Here are just a few of my favorites. Enjoy! "-)
I've always been drawn to the beauty of what is dark... music, art, films and shows... One of them being Sons of Anarchy, which inspired me to create a portrait series in the show's likeness. In just a few weeks I will be releasing my Fade to Black series in it's entirety as it was intended to be experienced. In the meantime here is a teaser of what's to come for the series finale. You can also check out what has already been released from the series on either my Facebook or Instagram page, be sure to give them a like or follow as well. I could not of done this with out the help of everyone involved, so I give my sincerest thanks to each of you!
A couple weeks ago I was contacted by Z Salon & Spa with an opportunity I could not pass on, to cover their annual holiday party, I was beyond stoked to be hired for this event. Their Masquerade theme, with masks rich in detail and color, infused the high energy of the everyone there really made this one of the most exciting events I have covered. Congrats to the employees to what has been a very successful year for them.
Having recently made upgrades to my wireless tethering system with Tether Tools, I was more than ready for this event. I've already been using the Cam Ranger for a while on portrait and beauty sessions and I loved how interactive it is with the team members on the set. But I wanted to get more use out of it by implementing it into my event services. I knew I had my work cut out for me, covering the candids and details along with a step & repeat… so I had to maximize the efficiency of my gear. Enter my wireless tethering system, in which I had my iPad attached to my tripod via Tether Tools, with the images streaming in real time to my iPad via Cam Ranger. Let me tell you, it was a big hit! The group really enjoyed and appreciated being able to see the results displayed right in front of them. This not only enhanced their experience but this also allowed me to have a stationary set up along with being able to be mobile enough for the to capture the candid moments at the party. I'm very pleased with how everything went and this will now be a permanent feature of my event services. Focused.
The images below are just a few of my favorites but the entire event can be view at this link - http://on.fb.me/1zUmLsD.
