A few months ago I was introduced to a young man named Eric Welch. He’s an amazing actor brought onto Glass Label’s team for the 2013 48 Hour Film Project in which he was cast as the lead actor in “The Paper Tiger”. As I carried out my responsibilities as production photographer I had no choice but to be aware of my surroundings and capture every bit of detail I felt would be beneficial to the film project. During this time I noticed how focused Eric was to his craft. When scenes weren't being shot he was either studying the script or meditating off in a corner out of the way. It was quite intriguing to see Eric work, to point the it gave me inspiration to capture him behind my lens. A few weeks later we got to chatting about doing some work in my studio. I knew I wanted to capture his suave and laid back demeanor which could really be illuminated through a modern low key Black & White style of mine. Once we got into the studio and meshed out a game plan the time began to fly. Before I knew it, we had captured plenty of material, discussed things from A Lighter Shade of Brown to the Union Actors Guild. I even got him to try Schlafly Pumpkin Ale which was a no go for him lol. Tecate it was. It was honor to have gotten to work with Eric on not one but two projects before he moves from Louisville to LA. He will be heading out there to pursue his acting career and with that I wish him tremendous luck, remain Focused my friend.
