Not gonna lie, stepping out of your comfort zone is a challenge. However challenges are there to either overcome or fail. If you fail then you've learned which is invaluable, however if you've overcome then you can stare it down and be proud. This is the perfect example, headshots for the 2016 North American Hair Awards finalist nominations of Matthew Tyldesley and Isidro Valencia, a couple of beloved and talented artists from our community here in Louisville. When Matthew first approached me about shooting these, he asked me apply my own style. So after some thought I went on a bit of risk and decided to go for a more dramatic editorial feel to them. I must say reward does not come without challenge and I believe we walked away with a strong set of headshots.
Good luck to Matthew and Isidro and as they venture to bring home the Texture Hair and Make-up Artist of the Year awards, cheers amigos!
Every so often I'm asked to team up with a fellow photographer as their second shooter for a wedding, as in with this wedding, it was my friend Josh Eskridge. He asked me to work alongside him, capturing Amy and Drew's wedding, a beautifully intimate and unique one at that. From Amy's handmade wedding dress to the candle lit ceremony, this was quite the enchanted wedding that bohemian fairy tales are made of. The energy was pure and the aesthetics were organic, a dream come true in deed for this beautiful couple. I wish them the best of luck in the future and many years of joy and happiness.
Also, I want to wish Josh Eskridge the best of luck, as this was his last wedding in Louisville, before moving up to Hartford CT. Thank you again, it was a privilege to work alongside you on this evening.
A personal journal about any given day in my photography career where I will write about anything from portraits and headshots to sharing my educational experiences. Thank you for taking the time to stop by, it's my pleasure to share my stories with you!
